Managing misconduct
Mentors will gain an understanding of how and when to identify, manage and escalate issues of trainee misconduct, with a focus on supporting colleagues while maintaining best practice. This module will provide guidance on effective, proportionate responses to misconduct.
The aims of this module are to:
- Learn from expert colleagues about potential risks and red flags in trainee conduct, and how to de-escalate but still appropriately record these in the first instance
- Be equipped to confidently and competently support a colleague whose conduct requires intervention or escalation
- Gain a clear understanding of Teacher Misconduct: The Prohibition of Teachers (2022) and how it relates to trainee conduct
